A New List of Records Available at the Skolyszyn Branch of the State Archives
In theory all registry records more than 100 years old should be in the State Archives. But in practice some registry offices have books much older than 100 years. Such a set of books was obtained by a manager of the branch of the State Archives in Skolyszyn (a branch of the Rzeszów archives) in 2002. So this inventory is new-you cannot find it in the guide put out by the Polish State Archives nor in the Mormon library.
I should explain the situation at the archives in Skolyszyn. It is a small branch, with only three people working there: a manager, an archivist, and a driver/technician. Any researcher who would like to receive copies of these records must be very patient; it can take much longer than in other archives, because the personnel are overloaded with work. In addition, these books have no surname indexes; each page must be checked, one at a time. So if you do find records here you wish to get copies of, please be patient and understanding if the response is not immediate.
