Inventory of Records at the Pelplin Diocesan Archive

The Diocesan Archive in Pelplin, near Gdansk, has vital records from that part of Prussia, but only for Roman Catholic parishes. The Archive's research room is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; but you must arrange your visit a few days earlier, either by writing a letter or by calling the Director, Father Nadolny. He knows basic English and is helpful and friendly person-but he doesn't do research for genealogists, due to his many other duties and lack of assistance in this Archive.

When visiting the archives in Pelplin, you may book a guest room in the Marian Monastery, which is part of the complex of diocesan buildings surrounded by a beautiful park.

The archive's address is: Archiwum Diecezjalne w Pelplinie
ul. Biskupa Dominika 11
83-100 Pelplin Poland

The telephone number is 0048 58 536 1221, into 313.
